Worcester Pharmacies

Where to fill a prescription, and what it should cost.

Every pharmacy here was checked against its own website on 26 and 30 September 2026 - the chain's own store page, the hospital's own page - and not against a search result. Two addresses that had been circulating turned out to be wrong, and one phone number was off by three digits, which is exactly why they are checked.

Two things worth knowing before you go. A pharmacy counter keeps different hours from the shop around it, and nearly all of them close for half an hour at half past one. And if the price at the counter surprises you, the tool above tells you what the medicine itself costs a pharmacy - which is often a good deal less than the till says.

If the price at the counter is more than you can manage, do not simply go without: the last group below is the help that exists for exactly that, and some of it is money already set aside with nobody claiming it.

Medication Price Check

What pharmacies pay, from the government’s own figuresTap to open

What do pharmacies pay for a medicine? The government publishes that figure every week for every medicine sold in the country, and this searches it. It is not what you will be charged - your price depends on your insurance and your pharmacy, and is usually higher - but it tells you what the medicine itself is worth, which is the part nobody usually says out loud.

All 5,945 medicines in the government’s file of 2026-09-30 — brand and generic, prescription and over the counter.

Help Paying for Medicine

The Part D limit on what you can be charged

800-633-4227

Not a programme to apply for, but a fact worth knowing: once you have spent $2,100 out of pocket on covered drugs in 2026, your Part D plan pays the rest for the year and you are charged nothing more. The figure is $2,400 in 2027. No Part D plan may have a deductible above $615 in 2026.

Medicare's own line, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. TTY 877-486-2048.

Their website

Figures read from medicare.gov on 26 September 2026. They change each January.

Medicare Extra Help (Low-Income Subsidy)

800-772-1213

The federal programme that cuts Part D premiums, deductibles and copays for people with limited income and savings - for many people to a few dollars a prescription. You apply through Social Security, and it costs nothing to ask.

Social Security, Monday–Friday. TTY 800-325-0778.

Their website

Prescription Advantage

Massachusetts' own pharmacy assistance programme, for residents 65 and over and for younger disabled residents. It pays toward what Part D leaves, and you can be in both.

Their website

The programme's own site and its page on mass.gov both refuse automated requests, so no phone number is printed here rather than one we could not check. SHINE, below, will tell you the number and help you apply.

SHINE — free Medicare counselling

800-243-4636

Trained volunteers who go through your plans with you, work out what you qualify for, and help with the forms. Free, and they sell nothing.

Their website

Ask for the SHINE counsellor for Worcester.

LI NET — cover while you wait

800-783-1307

If you qualify for Extra Help but are not in a drug plan yet, this covers your prescriptions in the meantime, and can pay you back for what you spent after you qualified. Keep the receipts.

8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern. TTY 711.
